International Folkdance
The Farandol Folkdancers do dances from a variety of countries but specialise in those from the Balkan region. They meet 7:30pm until 9:30pm Fridays (except public holidays). First visit free, thereafter $2.00.

Israeli Dance
Israeli Folk Dancing is ideal for improving one's general well-being. It is good exercise for physical fitness and pleasurable, because of the lovely music and learning to move with it. Courses at the Canterbury WEA. Contact the WEA (ph. +64(3)366 0285) to enrol or to find out more information.
Contra Dance
Christchurch Monthly Contra Dance (American folk dance) held first Saturday of each month - resumes February 4, 2012. All welcome.
7:00pm - Learners workshop. 7:30 pm onwards - social dancing and fun

Contra Dance Tour!
Ron and Cathy Arps are returning with a contra tour group from the USA, and will be running contra dances as they travel around the country.
These enthusiastic contra dancers and musicians from the USA will converge on Hokitika and run a special weekend. Two evening contra dances with local NZ musicians and the tour group musicians, workshops on dance and music.
