This symbol means you too can dance! Some events are further marked 'experience required'. These are suited to people with some sort of dance experience - also see our class listings to find one near you so you can learn the basic steps and join in!

Events listed below may be associated with FDNZ, its members or affiliates, but all are bound to be heaps of fun!!

Special Events

Sunday 29th April, 2012

2:00pm - 3:00pm

New Zealand's one and only Dance-o-mat!

Come and join Farandol Folkdancers on the Dance-o-mat, Sunday 29 April, 2-3 pm. Easy dances for everyone, and maybe a few demos too, depending on who turns up.

Location: cnr St Asaph St and Manchester St (site of Bargain Rentals), Christchurch.

Event will be cancelled if wet.

Ashburton Balkan Music Festival photos

See photos of some of us dancers dwarfed by beefy Romanian rugby players here for the World Cup. During our set, they joined in our final dance with great enthusiasm and shouted out to one another in true Romanian style!
